Delwin & Anneliese | Mondrian South Beach Hotel | Miami, Florida

This was the VERY last wedding we shot before COVID started and what a wild ride it was. From day one, we were OBSESSED with Delwin and Anneliese. They had a clear vision of what they wanted for their day and from the very beginning they told us that we were a perfect match for them. As per our tradition with coffee shop meetings, we also closed down Starbucks the day we met for the first time and if we’re 100% honest - we spoke more about our lives than anything else and it was the besttttt.

Avid travelers, basketball lovers, and their dog Kanye, these two were perfection. We all literally counted down the days until their wedding and we knew that as a company this was going to be one for the books and it most certainly was. From the smallest detail to the biggest, so much thought and so much intention went into everything. One of Anneliese’s BFFs helped with the planning and coordination of the wedding and we seriously could not have done it without her in the months leading up to the wedding day (you da best Ferny).

On the actual day, we had our team, our timeline, and we were ready to go. BUT…since life likes to always throw a couple of curveballs here and there the heavens decided that some rain would be just what we needed to throw our timeline completely and I mean completely off. We had planned to do their first look outside by the water on the very same spot where Delwin had asked Anneliese to be his girlfriend years ago which um hello was PERFECT for a first look but then the rain came, so that was a no go. We quickly came up with a plan B and ended up doing their first look and their portraits on the iconic stairs of the Mondrian South Beach and the surrounding area. Not what we had originally planned, but what we ended up with was totally and unexpectedly beyond amazing and now looking back, we wouldn’t have done it any other way. As always, God knows BEST.

All in all, the day was one of the most beautiful we have been a part of and even though not everything went according to plan, we will always be eternally grateful for D&A because they were 100% on board with us from the start, they trusted us blindly, and they did not let anything ruin their day. A few weeks after their wedding, we ended up coming back to their venue and we shot their DREAM first look and some more portraits outside (snuck those into the gallery below right after their ceremony - so they didn’t actually happen on the wedding day haha). They got all dressed up one more time because hey, you can never wear that dress or that tux too many times. Am I right, or am I right?
